San Juanita (Janie) Villa, has been with Student Alternatives Program Inc. since December 21, 1990, as a board member.  She is currently retired from state service.  She worked for thirty years at the Rio Grande State Center as a case worker, Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional supervisor and Human Resource Director. 

She is an active member of her community serving in church organizations, community activities and especially the American Cancer Society.  She is currently a volunteer with the steering committee as a recruiter for this year's Relay for Life Event.  She has been a volunteer with Rio Grande State Center and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

She graduated from Mercedes High School and then attended Pan American University where she obtained a BA degree in Community Service (Social Work). 

As her hobbies she enjoys reading, walking, and attending her grandchildren's sports activities.  She has been married for forty years and has two daughters and four grandchildren.
